Dr Jim McMorran

Biography

Dr Jim McMorran graduated from Oxford University in 1993 before undertaking general practice training in the Mersey Deanery and becoming a GP principal at Kenyon Medical Centres in 1998. Interest in education resulted in lecturing and course organiser roles at the University of Warwick between 1997 and 2010.

In 2015 he was appointed as chronic conditions GP lead for Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group (2015 to present). His interest in cancer and screening is reflected in his appointment as a GP advisor to NHS screening programmes (2014 to present) and as the NHS West Midlands Cancer Alliance/Cancer Research UK GP cancer lead (2016 to present).

Dr McMorran is the Editor in Chief of GPnotebook (2001 to present), an online reference resource used by doctors in the UK and internationally.
