Jessica de Mounteney

Biography

Jessica De Mounteney joined GLD as the Director General for Litigation with Justice and Security in February 2022 on secondment from the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel.

At the OPC, Jessica was the Director General responsible for the drafting of legislation for MoJ, HO, MoD, Cabinet Office, and the Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland Offices. Jessica has also worked twice for the Law Commission, first from 2003 to 2006 and again from 2015 to 2018 as the Senior Drafter there.

Jessica joined OPC in 1997. She was called to the Bar in 1994. Jessica worked in criminal and common law during her years in practice, with a particular focus on criminal legal aid work.
