Jenny Wilcox

Biography

Jenny Wilcox has been Deputy High Commissioner and Consul in Rwanda since February 2016. She joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2003, having studied German, Spanish and Translation Studies at the University of Birmingham. Her first overseas role was working in both Rwanda and Burundi between 2006 and 2008. She then studied Japanese and worked on human rights, international development and politics at the British Embassy in Tokyo. Immediately before moving back to Rwanda she worked as Assistant Private Secretary to David Lidington, the UK’s Minister for Europe. She’s working hard to add Kinyarwanda to her list of languages.
