Jamie Hilton

Biography

Jamie Hilton was Deputy Head of Mission, Slovenia from 2013 to 2014.

Before that, Jamie worked at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office headquarters in London. His first job was in Asia-Pacific Directorate, where he covered Malaysia, the Philippines and East Timor. He then moved to Finance Directorate, where he specialised in Risk Management.

Jamie spent one year working on Customs legislation in Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs before he joined the Foreign Office in 2009.

Jamie graduated from Keele University and then entered the teaching profession. He spent a number of happy years teaching both English Literature and English Language in London, Japan, and Rotherham until he decided to join the civil service.
