James Sanderson

Biography

James Sanderson became CEO and Accounting Officer of the Independent Living Fund (ILF) in 2012, having been the Chief Operating Officer for the organisation since 2009.

After graduating, James embarked on a career in the private sector working in a number of sales and operational delivery roles. He joined the ILF in 2002, where his other senior roles have included Operations Director, with responsibility for front line service delivery, and Business Development Director, with responsibility for performance development, change management and information governance.

In 2013 he was elected to the board of the Association of Chief Executives.

Chief Executive

The Chief Executive reports to the board of trustees and is accountable for the performance and direction of the Independent Living Fund.

The holder of this role is also the Senior Accounting Officer, with additional responsibilities that are set out in ‘Managing public money’.
