James Millington
Biography
James has over 28 years of experience in the nuclear industry managing complex nuclear facilities.
With a background in safety and radiological protection, he has held a variety of operational leadership roles across Sellafield and the Low Level Waste Repository, focussed on the management of spent fuel and special nuclear materials.
He is a recognised leader of people, particularly in complex operational environments and with significant safety challenge.
He is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the IET and a Chartered Member of IOSH.
James became the Interim Environment, Safety & Security Director at Sellafield Ltd in April 2024.

James reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and leads, directs and develops all environmental, safety, security, safeguards, health, business continuity and quality activities across Sellafield Ltd.
