James (Jim) Barron
Biography
Jim Barron is a former senior civil servant who worked for the Cabinet Office for 27 years. During his career Jim was Secretary to several independent bodies, including the Civil Service Commissioners, the Commissioner for Public Appointments, the House of Lords Appointments Commission and the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments. Before his retirement Jim was Chief Executive of the Office of Parliamentary Counsel. As Head of Security Division, he set up the Security Vetting Appeals Panel in 1997. He now carries out review and inquiry work for a number of Government departments.
