Biography

Jack took up his appointment as Deputy Ambassador and Her Majesty’s Consul at the British Embassy, Republic of Belarus in June 2021. Prior to this, he was in London working as a Team Leader on UK Defence and International Security matters.

In his diplomatic career, Jack has served in British Embassy Warsaw and on the UK Rapid Deployment Team working to support UK nationals overseas including in Havana, Cuba during the COVID-19 crisis. In 2017, Jack was appointed as Press Officer to the Minister of State for Trade and Exports.

Before joining the FCDO, Jack worked in public service in the UK and European Parliaments as a senior researcher and in South Korea as a freelance journalist.

Deputy Head of Mission, Belarus

The Deputy Head of Mission is a senior diplomat and typically a key advisor to the Ambassador or High Commissioner. The Deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas Embassy or High Commission. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the Ambassador as Chargé d’Affaires. A senior ranking Deputy may also take the title Minister. Smaller missions may not have a Deputy Head.
