Ian Kinder

Biography

Ian Kinder is the Chief Executive of the UK Commission for Employment and Skills with responsibility for the Commission’s strategy and operations including its Futures Programme and Investors in People business, its internal corporate and business services, and the Commission’s strategic relationships with the Welsh and Northern Ireland Governments.

Ian has previously held a number of senior positions in the UK Government working across the education, skills and business departments in Whitehall and regional departments in the North of England, working on business growth and skills policy and programmes. He was a Director at the Learning & Skills Council in Lancashire where he was responsible for post 16 funding and delivery and the Lancashire 14-19 strategy.

He has previously held a number of senior roles in government departments including working as a National Director in the DTI’s Small Business Service, where he led work on enterprise and small business policy, and in regional and national skills policy roles including developing the Investors in People Standard
