Hugh Evans

Biography

Hugh Evans was the British High Commissioner to Laos from 2015 until 2019. He joined the FCO in 1985 and one of his first regions to cover as a Research Analyst was South and Southeast Asia. He has since served in a range of FCO and overseas posts with a particular focus on Asia and Europe, including postings as Her Majesty’s Consul General in Erbil, Political Officer in Kabul and Management Counsellor in Moscow.
