Graham Farrant has been Chief Executive and Chief Land Registrar since 1 June 2015.
Graham has considerable experience in both the private and public sectors, most recently as Chief Executive of Thurrock Council, where his leadership achieved significant improvements in the council’s stability, performance and reputation, quality of service and efficiency. Graham has also had spells as Chief Executive at the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham and Brentwood Council.
Graham’s private sector experience includes being Chief Executive of Leisure Connection Ltd, and Chief Executive of pmpgenesis, a sports and business leadership management consultancy.
Graham graduated from Brunel University with an MSc in Environmental Pollution Science and the University of Greenwich with a BSc in Environmental Health, leading to a successful career in environmental health, housing and regeneration at Westminster and Birmingham councils.
Chief Executive and Chief Land Registrar
The Chief Land Registrar is responsible for keeping the land registers and has all the powers, responsibilities and duties conferred and imposed by law in relation to that.
The Chief Land Registrar is also Land Registry’s Chief Executive and Accounting Officer. This role is responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day management of the organisation, including overseeing its objectives and the implementation of an approved business strategy and business plan.
