Biography

Gordon joined the HCA in May 2014 as Head of Investments (on secondment from Lloyds Banking Group) before taking on the permanent role of Chief Investment Officer in 2017. Before this, he was Managing Director of the Business Support Unit (Commercial Real Estate) within Lloyds Banking Group.

Gordon has spent over 30 years in the banking sector with Lloyds Bank, HBOS and Bank of Scotland in a number of roles with focus on the real estate and general corporate sectors over the last 20 years. Gordon is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. Prior to joining Bank of Scotland he worked as a graduate engineer with Balfour Beatty after studying for a degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Strathclyde.

Chief Investment Officer, HCA

The Chief Investment Officer is responsible for leading the development and execution of long term strategy of the Investment Directorate with a view to delivering government strategy in respect of housing supply using (i) a portfolio of financial instruments (including equity/debt and guarantees) and (ii) through developing relationships and structuring opportunities for increased private sector investment in increasing supply of new homes. Gordon leads a team of 100+ colleagues based in HCA office locations in Birmingham, Bristol, Gateshead, London, Leeds and Warrington.
