Biography

Curriculum Vitae Ms Gill Fraser, Deputy Head of Mission, British Embassy Paris

Gill Fraser was born in Kirkcaldy, Fife, in Scotland and has been a member of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since 2002. Prior to joining the FCO, she worked for the BBC as a Policy Advisor and later in her Majesty’s Treasury.

Gill has worked on a number of high profile Foreign Policy dossiers including as Deputy Head of Mission in Tripoli from 2012-2013 and as Deputy Head of the Afghanistan department at FCO London.

Gill also has a breadth of experience in EU and economic posts, previously working as Chargé d’Affaires at the British Embassy in Bratislava and as Head of the Economic and Social Affairs team in The Hague.

Gill joined the British Embassy in Paris in July 2016 after 18 months working in Human Resources in the FCO in London.

In addition to French, Gill speaks fluent Dutch.
