George Edgar
Biography
George Edgar OBE was British High Commissioner to the Republic of Fiji from 2020 to 2021.
Prior to the appointment he was Deputy Director & Coronavirus Task Force in FCO. Other roles include European Union Ambassador to Cambodia, Phnom Penh; Her Majesty’s Ambassador at Tashkent, FCO, Additional Director – 2012 Olympics, Protocol Directorate, FCO Head of Consular Assistance Group, Consular Directorate, and Envoy for Climate Security in Africa, St Petersburg, Consul General, Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Skopje & Phnom Penh, FCO, Head of South Africa Section, and Africa Department (Southern).
Edgar is married to Elena Ryurikovna and has two daughters.
