Garry Graham

Biography

Garry has over 30 years experience as a senior industrial relations and collective bargaining expert working across the public and private sectors.

After working for a brief period in consultancy, he currently works as an Interim Industrial Relations Lead for Birmingham City Council. He previously worked for 12 years as Deputy General Secretary for the trade union Prospect and spent the majority of his professional career working for Prospect, FDA and CPSA.

During his career he has worked closely with trade unions, employers, government and regulators in the aviation, defence, nuclear and public sectors.

As part of these roles Garry has presented evidence to the CAA, SSRB, PACAC and Defence Select Committee. He has negotiated at a national level on pay, pensions, redundancy terms, workforce reform and up-skilling, often involving staff working in safety critical environments.

Garry has an MA in Politics and Philosophy from Dundee University and takes a keen interest in defence matters and issues relating to national security and international politics. Originally from Leith in Edinburgh, he lives with his wife in Hertfordshire and has a grown-up son and daughter.

In his spare time, he has a passion for the outdoors and climbing mountains and is a volunteer climbing instructor at his local climbing wall.
