Freya Guinness
Biography
Freya Guinness is Director General for Corporate Services and Chief Operating Officer at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).
Freya was Director General for Corporate Services at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from April 2021 to February 2023.
Prior to this, Freya was Director for Corporate Operations and Organisational Development at the Office of Rail and Road (ORR). She was responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership across all of ORR’s corporate activities.
She has previously held a number of roles in other regulatory organisations, including the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and Ofcom.
Freya spent her early career in the private sector working as a management consultant and in telecoms.
