Esme Winch
Biography
Esme Winch joined the Further Education (FE) Commissioner team in 2019 as an FE Adviser. She was appointed Deputy FE Commissioner in January 2026.
She has held a number of roles in the FE sector including:
- Group Finance and Resources Director, NCG
- Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, NCFE
- Chief Executive and Principal, Loughborough College
Deputy Further Education Commissioner
The Deputy FE Commissioners work with FE colleges to help improve the quality and sustainability of their provision, and reduce the risk of failure. This includes:
- providing support to colleges in intervention
- preventing colleges from going into intervention
- contributing to policy development for colleges in the FE sector
