Dr Emma Rowland

Biography

Dr Emma Rowland was appointed Executive Director, Performance and Delivery in July 2026.

Her previous roles include:

  • chief operating officer at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • national clinical lead for urgent and emergency care at NHS England
  • associate medical director for emergency, medicine and rehabilitation services at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
  • consultant in emergency medicine at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Emma has also served as a Care Quality Commission (CQC) national specialty adviser for emergency medicine. She is an author of the CQC-published Patient FIRST and People FIRST national frameworks for safe, effective urgent and emergency care.
