Dyfed Alsop
Biography
Dyfed Alsop is the Director General of the Chief Operating Officer Group (COO) and Deputy Chief Executive of the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
He joined UKHSA from the Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA), where he had served as Chief Executive since 2017. Bringing more than 20 years of public sector experience, Dyfed has held senior leadership positions across government, including at:
- HM Treasury
- Valuation Office Agency
- HM Revenue and Customs
In his capacity as Chief Operating Officer, he oversees:

- People and Workplace
- Strategy and Policy

- Risk and Assurance

Before joining the Civil Service, Dyfed worked for HSBC, both in the UK and internationally in Argentina and Brazil.
