David Slinn

Biography

David Slinn became the United Kingdom’s seventh ambassador to Croatia in April 2012. Previously, he was the first British Ambassador to North Korea.

David has spent a major part of his career in South East Europe. After six months in Tirana, he spent three years in Belgrade, first as the Trade Officer and then in 1998-1999, as the Political Officer on Kosovo. During the problems in Macedonia during 2001, David worked with NATO as part of the team that produced the Ohrid Agreement. In 2008, he was seconded to the ICO, the organisation responsible for overseeing the independence of Kosovo.

After studying French and Russian at university, David sought a career in the international arena. He joined the Foreign Office straight after the completion of his studies. David is married to a Canadian diplomat.
