David Rooke

Biography

David Rooke has worked at the Environment Agency (EA) since it was formed in 1996. During this time he has held various roles including:

  • Acting Chief Executive
  • Executive Director of Flood and Coastal Risk Management
  • Head of Flood Defence
  • Area Manager (Midlands)
  • Regional Water Manager (North East)

David has a degree in civil engineering from the University of Nottingham. He is a chartered engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). He was awarded an MBE for services to flood defence and the environment in 2002.
