Damian Parmenter CBE

Biography

Damian has been Director General Strategy and International since August 2021. His previous role was Director of Industrial Strategy and Exports. He has been Chief of Staff to four Secretaries of State, supporting and advising Ministers and senior staff, and working with Private Offices across Whitehall and internationally to deliver defence and government priorities.

He has gained significant experience through his broad range of posts working in Defence and security since 1990. These have included roles in the FCDO, including two years seconded to Security Policy and two years as a strategist in the Pentagon.

Damian is married with three children. He has a Masters Degree in International Security and Strategic Leadership from Kings College London, and a degree in International Politics and Strategic Studies, from UCW Aberystwyth.
