Claire Johnston

Biography

Claire took up her role as TSol Director General in April 2014. TSol became the Government Legal Department (GLD) on 1 April 2015. Claire left GLD in 2018.

Her previous roles include:

  • Director, Department for Education Advisory Division at the Treasury Solicitor’s Department, 2007 to 2014
  • Head of Property and Indirect Taxes Group at Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, 2006 to 2007
  • Deputy Director at the Department for Constitutional Affairs, Legal Group, 2001 to 2006
