Christine Quinn was appointed Regional Schools Commissioner for West Midlands on 3 October 2016.

Before her appointment, Christine was CEO of Ninestiles Academy Trust.

Earlier in her career she worked as:

  • an English teacher in Leeds
  • headteacher of Waverly School and the International School, both in Birmingham
  • a National Leader of Education

Regional Schools Commissioner for West Midlands

The Regional Schools Commissioner for the West Midlands is responsible for making decisions about the academies and free schools in the following local authorities:

  • Birmingham
  • Cheshire East
  • Cheshire West and Chester
  • Coventry
  • Dudley
  • Herefordshire
  • Sandwell
  • Shropshire
  • Solihull
  • Staffordshire
  • Stoke-on-Trent
  • Telford and Wrekin
  • Walsall
  • Warwickshire
  • Wolverhampton
  • Worcestershire
