Christine McNeill
Biography
Christine McNeill took on the role of acting Deputy Head of Mission in January 2014, having originally come to Sarajevo in March 2013 in a new role as First Secretary Political. She will serve as DHM until the appointment of a new Ambassador in summer 2014, when the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Jo Lomas, will return to her position as DHM.
Christine spent the last few years in London, where she worked on estate matters, as head of the team dealing with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives and most recently, covering the situation in Syria. She has had five previous postings: Cairo, Suva, Chennai, Mbabane and Sofia.
Christine is married to Scott and has a teenage son and daughter, both of whom visit Sarajevo regularly. The family enjoy sightseeing and Christine is a keen walker, whilst her husband prefers golf.
