Christine Hewitt
Biography
Christine is Director for People Capability and Change. She took up this role for MHCLG from 8 January 2018, and previously held it at DCLG from 12 October 2015 to January 2018.
Prior to Christine’s appointment to DCLG, she was the People and Business Services Director at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (part of MOD) for 2 years.
During Christine’s time she sat as an Executive Board member and since January 2015 a full Board member. She was responsible for leading DSTL’s people strategy to drive transformational change and raise engagement and capability across a highly specialist workforce.
Christine’s past career has involved a range of economic policy and HR roles in central government including temporary BIS HR Director (July to November 2013), BIS Deputy Director of HR Strategy and Capability, and Joint Director of Strategy and Knowledge at ACAS.
She is a non-executive trustee of transport social enterprise HCT.
