Chris Last
Biography
Chris was the Head of Civil Service Human Resources, based in the Cabinet Office. He transformed HR into a smaller, more professional service. He introduced a graduate entry programme for HR and now the Civil Service is the largest recruiter of HR graduates in the UK.
He joined the Civil Service as DWP Director General, Human Resources in 2008. He became the first Head of Government HR Operations in 2011 while retaining his DWP role.
Chris worked in a number of human resources roles for the Ford Motor Company in the UK and USA before joining the Civil Service.
