Charlie Elphicke

Biography

Charlie Elphicke served as Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury) from May 2015 until July 2016. He is also a campaigner for fathers’ rights, leading to government adopting his proposal to give children a right to know both of their parents.

Education

Charlie attended Felsted School in Essex and at the Cambridge Centre for Sixth-Form Studies. He went on to study law at the University of Nottingham.

Politics

Charlie campaigned for the Port of Dover to become community-owned and for the construction of a hospital in Dover. He has been a leading campaigner for fathers’ rights, leading to government adopting his proposal to give children a right to know both of their parents.

Career before politics

Charlie was previously a partner in a Transatlantic law firm Hunton and Williams. He also worked in pharmaceutical research.

Personal life

Charlie is married and has 2 children.
