Cathy Bassa
Biography
Cathy Bassa was appointed Chargée d’Affaires to Cuba from 28 January until 20 March 2025. Before this period, she was UK’s Deputy Ambassador and His Majesty’s Consul to Cuba.
Cathy arrived in Havana in August 2021 following her role as Deputy Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire. Cathy joined the Diplomatic Service in 2003 and has previously worked in Cameroon. She has held a range of positions in London, including policy officer for Nepal and roles covering crisis management and consular assistance.
Cathy completed her mission in 2025.
