Catherine (Kate) Knight-Sands

Biography

Catherine (Kate) Knight-Sands was appointed as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Montenegro in December 2009. Before this, she was the Political Counsellor in Baghdad, and from 2004 to 2007 she was the Deputy Head of Mission in Sarajevo. She was posted to Austria with the UK Delegation to the OSCE from 1999-2003.

Kate began her career in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1994, serving in Western European Department and Security Policy Department. Prior to joining the FCO, she worked for the British Council in Italy and Indonesia.
