Caroline Rowett

Biography

Caroline Rowett became the British Deputy High Commissioner Chandigarh in February 2021. She represents the UK in the four Indian states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

Caroline is a career diplomat with over thirty years’ experience both overseas and in London. Her previous postings include France, Indonesia, the Bahamas and Haiti.

In London she has worked on a range of portfolios including Human Rights, Afghanistan, and the British Overseas Territories.

Caroline’s most recent overseas assignment was as Charge d’Affaires in Haiti where she represented the UK in the absence of the non-resident Ambassador.
