Carol Gray

Biography

Carol Gray started her role as Regional Director for East Midlands in September 2022.

She was previously the Regional Schools Commissioner for East Midlands and the Humber. Prior to this, she was Deputy Director in the East Midlands and Humber region.

She has spent the majority of her career as a civil servant in the Department for Education.

Regional Director for East Midlands

The Regional Director for East Midlands is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:

  • Derby
  • Derbyshire
  • Leicester
  • Leicestershire
  • Lincolnshire
  • North Northamptonshire
  • Nottingham
  • Nottinghamshire
  • Rutland
  • West Northamptonshire
