Bernhard Garside OBE

Biography

Bernhard Garside is a career diplomat who joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983. Bernhard has had postings in Muscat (Oman), Dubai (UAE), Lagos (Nigeria), Havana (Cuba), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), and Khartoum (Sudan). His most recent posting was as Deputy Head of Mission in Algiers, Algeria.

Prior to joining the FCO, Bernhard was a Master of Arts graduate from Glasgow University where he studied German, Politics and Social and Political Philosophy. He is married with three children and his hobbies include golf and SCUBA diving.
