Becky Wood

Biography

Becky Wood is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority (NISTA).

Before taking up this role, she was a partner at the consultancy firm EY, and prior to that was a Commercial Advisor at the Infrastructure and Projects Authority. For ten years Becky oversaw major infrastructure developments at the Department for Transport, serving as the Senior Responsible Officer for the Crossrail, Thameslink and Intercity Express programmes. She also has valuable international experience, having worked on significant infrastructure programmes across both public and private sectors in Australia and New Zealand.

Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer leads the National Infrastructure and Service Transformation Authority, which reports jointly to the Treasury and OPMC Ministers.

NISTA’s responsibilities include oversight of the 10 Year Infrastructure Strategy and the publication and updating of the dynamic National Infrastructure Pipeline, which includes projections of around £700bn of public and private infrastructure investment. NISTA’s advisors and specialists also supporting accountable officers in the delivery and assurance of the Government’s Major Projects Portfolio, which includes just over 80 of the Government’s most complex and high-risk projects. NISTA’s Project Finance and Market specialists also support public sector teams engaging with the extension and expiry of existing PFI arrangements, as well as those establishing and delivering major infrastructure transactions involving different public and private financing models.

The Chief Executive Officer is also the Head of the Government Project Delivery Function and is responsible for the ongoing professionalisation of the Project Delivery community across Government.
