Dr Anne Slowther

Biography

Anne Slowther is Professor of Clinical Ethics at the University of Warwick, and a clinical ethicist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire. Her clinical background is in general practice and she co-leads the values, law and ethics teaching in the MBChB curriculum at Warwick.

Her research on clinical ethics committees in the UK in the early 2000s led to the establishment of the UK Clinical Ethics Network and she continues to be a member of the network’s board of trustees.

She is a member of the board of trustees of the Institute of Medical Ethics and has contributed to working groups advising the UK Advisory Committee on the Safety of Blood Tissue and Organs (SaBTO) on policy recommendations.

Members of the UK National Screening Committee provide expertise to help shape the committee’s recommendations to ministers. Anne is the clinical ethics committee member.
