Anne Dixon

Biography

Anne Dixon joined Innovate UK in August 2014 and is the Chief Operating Officer responsible for Operations, HR, IT, Customer Service and Governance.

She also is a Non-Executive Director of UKSBS Ltd, a member of the BIS Executive Committee for Operations and Commercial, and a Trustee of the Royal Naval Museums.

Anne has been at the forefront of professionalising grant-giving across Government. Anne is currently pioneering digital, online services for innovating businesses and researchers in the UK, through Gov.uk. She is re-organising Innovate UK so that it easier for Companies to access funding for innovation; to connect to other businesses for the development of innovation; or to gain monies from other funders in the UK and Internationally.

Previously Anne was Head of Science Funding at the Medical Research Council and Director of Customer Services at the National Trust.

She has built up several companies in the fields of publishing, computer games, internet/web and interactive TV. She was the leader of the HyperCite project, which won the Smithsonian Medal for Innovation in IT. She has several technology world firsts to her name, particularly in the field of electronic publishing.
