Ann Jarvis

Biography

Ann Jarvis is currently an Employment Tribunal Lay Member.

Previously, a full time Trade Union Official for 11 years (1995–2011) in a number of unions. As a Prospect Negotiations Officer, she represented members in the Ministry of Defence; Defence Logistics as well as being chairperson and lead on the negotiating teams in both Defence Estates and the Army Base Repair Organisation (ABRO) covering pay and conditions of service bargaining. In the Society of Radiographers she was the Regional Organiser for London then the North West and National Officer for Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man; leading negotiations on local pay arrangements with NHS Trusts and achieving a national framework agreement with the Northern Ireland Government. She became the first SoR representative on the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, a member of its national health committee and a member of the national bargaining committee. Most recently she was the NASUWT West Midlands Regional Organiser.

Prior to this Ann was an elected Civil Service Trade Union Representative from 1983- 1995, holding a range of national posts from Chair of the Civil and Public Services Association’s Department for Employment Group Executive Committee and Chair of the national negotiating Whitley Committee, leading on all pay and conditions of service bargaining for 60,000 Staff.

Ann graduated from Keele University with both the Graduate Diploma and the MA in Industrial Relations and Employment Law.
