Ann Cormack MBE

Biography

Ann Cormack was a Non-Executive Director at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office from October 2020 to December 2023.

Previously Director International at Rolls-Royce plc, Ann joined the De Beers Group in October 2017 where she led the Global Human Resources function.

Ann spent the first 20 years of her career in front-line business executive roles at Shell International, latterly running Shell’s global internal consultancy B2B team and the European Fleet Fuel Cards business. She spent 2 years as Managing Director, Small Business Service, at the UK Department for Trade and Industry. She then served as Chief Executive of D1-BP Fuel Crops, a biofuels joint venture, and then Managing Director for Energy at Xyntéo.

Ann is a Council Member of Chatham House, the Royal Institute for International Affairs. She previously served in a Non-Executive capacity on the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) Audit and Risk Assurance Committee from 2011 to 2019.

Ann was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list 2020. She holds an MA in modern languages from Edinburgh University and a post-graduate Diploma in Russian from Strathclyde University.
