Andrew Warren

Biography

Andrew Warren started his role as Regional Director for West Midlands in September 2022.

Before his appointment he was the Regional Schools Commissioner for West Midlands.

Andrew was also chair of the Teaching Schools Council and he is a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.

Earlier in his career he also worked as:

  • an assistant director in the Children and Young People’s Directorate
  • a primary headteacher

Regional Director for West Midlands

The Regional Director for the West Midlands is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:

  • Birmingham
  • Coventry
  • Dudley
  • Herefordshire, County of
  • Sandwell
  • Shropshire
  • Solihull
  • Staffordshire
  • Stoke-on-Trent
  • Telford and Wrekin
  • Walsall
  • Warwickshire
  • Wolverhampton
  • Worcestershire
