Andrew Pattinson
Biography
Andrew has been with DCMS since February 2024 first as Chief Financial Officer and then as Chief Operating Officer. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from across his Civil Service career. Andrew has worked in the Civil Service for 10 years, firstly in MHCLG; then at DEFRA as Group Finance Director and then at the Home Office as the Finance Director, Operations and Shared Services where he led on HO Government Shared Services.
Since May 2025, Andrew has acted as Chief Operating Officer bringing together the core department corporate services of HR, Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT), Commercial and Finance to streamline leadership and decision making as part of his portfolio under the government’s productive and agile state.
Prior to joining the Civil Service Andrew worked for Camden, Brent and Hertfordshire Councils in Social Services, Housing and Strategic Finance. In MHCLG he spent 18 months as a Policy Director leading the independent review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety post Grenfell Tower fire.
