Andrew Campbell CB
Biography
Andrew took up his role as Acting Director General, Finance and Corporate Services Group in September 2013.
Career
Andrew’s previous roles have given him knowledge of a wide range of policy issues, from aviation to neighbourhoods, from pollution control to housing. He has run corporate services for an organisation of more than 2,000 people, including delivering 20% efficiency savings in 1 year. He also worked for 2 years in the European Commission. Other roles include:
- Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions
- Principal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Scotland
- Director, Local Government Policy from 2006 to 2010
Andrew was awarded the Companion of the Order of Bath (CB) in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2013.
