Alison Stevenson OBE

Biography

Alison Stevenson was appointed Director General Delivery and Strategy in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) in September 2023.

As Director Overseas Bases in UK Strategic Command since the role’s creation in 2018, Alison was responsible for the MOD’s network of overseas bases, hubs and support facilities.

As Head of NATO and Europe Policy between 2009 and 2015, Alison had a remit to develop, promote and implement UK defence policy objectives for international security organisations and maintain effective defence bilateral relations with European nations. From 2015 she held the post of Director Head Office, responsible for making it stronger and more strategic, and for its corporate governance.

Alison is married to Colin and has three grown-up children.

Director General Delivery and Strategy

The Director General Delivery and Strategy is responsible for enabling the better management of the Defence enterprise by ensuring it is strategy-led and delivery-focused.

The Director General Delivery and Strategy oversees the Strategic Hub and the Annual Strategic Cycle through ownership of a range of related functions, including the Top Office Group, Digital Exploitation for Defence, Secretary of State’s Office for Net Assessment and Challenge, and the Directorate of Defence Communications.
