Alice Motion
Biography
Alice Motion has been the Development Director to the British Office Sudan, based in Nairobi, since October 2025. She leads the UK’s humanitarian and international development engagement and programming in Sudan.
Before this, Alice was Deputy Development Director and Head of the Humanitarian and Human Development Team in British Office Sudan from 2024 to 2025. She has completed two postings in Khartoum, as Deputy Development Director from 2023 to 2024, and Senior Policy and Programmes Advisor from 2015 to 2018.
Alice has been working across the African continent since 2011, with postings in Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Nigeria. She holds an MSc in African Studies and a BA in Modern History from the University of Oxford.
