Dr Alex O’Cinneide
Biography
Alex O’Cinneide joined the Export Guarantees Advisory Council (EGAC) in August, 2025.
Alex is the CEO and Founder of Gore Street Capital, a leading private equity firm specialising in renewable energy investments. He brings over two decades of experience in global finance, with his work spanning investment strategy, sovereign wealth management, and infrastructure finance in the UK, US and Middle East.
Alex has held senior leadership roles at Paladin Capital, Masdar Capital, and Quorum European Partners. He has served on the Boards of major clean energy companies and advised financial institutions such as Kleinwort Benson Private Bank.
He is a committed advocate for sustainable development and climate resilience. He advises UNICEF on mobilising private equity finance industry support, is a supervisory Board member of the UK Energy Research Centre, and Chair of the Finance Committee of The Biomimicry Institute.
He holds a PhD in Energy Policy from Trinity College Dublin and advanced degrees in Finance and in Public Philosophy from the London Business School and the London School of Economics. He is currently an Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London and an Associate Researcher at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School.

- environmental impacts and human rights
- sustainable lending
- bribery and corruption
- disclosure, including freedom of information requests
