Sir Alex Allan

Biography

Sir Alex Allan had a long career in the civil service, including roles as Principal Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and to the Prime Minister; as High Commissioner to Australia; as the Government’s ‘e-Envoy’; as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Justice; and as Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee. He was previously the Prime Minister’s Independent Adviser on Ministers’ Interests. He is currently Chair of the QC Appointments Panel and Board Member of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
