Alastair Peoples

Biography

Alastair Peoples was the Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) from its creation on 1 April 2014 to October 2015. He retired from the Civil Service in October 2015.

Career

Alastair was Chief Executive of the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) from August 2009.

He became Chief Executive of both the Driving Standards Agency and VOSA on 1 July 2013. The 2 agencies merged to form DVSA on 1 April 2014.

Before becoming Chief Executive of VOSA, Alastair held a variety of different positions including:

  • Operations Director and Deputy Chief Executive at VOSA
  • Operations Director at what is now the Driver and Vehicle Agency within the Department of Environment in Northern Ireland
