Alan Parnum

Biography

Alan Parnum is the Interim Regional Director for London. He started the role in September 2025.

Alan has over 5 years experience as a senior civil servant, leading intervention and improvement work in the post-16 sector.

He has:

  • previously been Deputy Director for London, overseeing national delivery of the DfE attendance programme
  • held senior roles across the East of England and North East London during the COVID 19 response
  • significant experience resolving financial and educational challenges with providers across London, the South East, and the East of England

Interim Regional Director for London

The Interim Regional Director for London is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:
