The Teaching Regulation Agency, GDPR and your data
GDPR came into effect on 25 May 2018. The Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) holds data relating to teachers on the database of qualified teachers (DQT) and on the system used to manage teacher misconduct referrals. TRA also hold the results for all those who took professional skills tests from 2001 to 2020.

We hold teacher misconduct information in paper format until it is destroyed in line with our data retention policy. Our data retention policy is being updated to reflect the requirements of GDPR and will be available shortly. We also hold details as required of other relevant parties to an investigation or hearing.
