About the Register of Consultant Lobbyists

It is not always clear whose interests are being represented by consultant lobbyists. The Register will address this problem, improve transparency of the lobbying industry and set out what ethical principles lobbyists follow.

The Register requires anyone who lobbies on behalf of a third party to:

  • give the names of their clients
  • declare whether or not they subscribe to a relevant code of conduct

Responsibilities

We are responsible for:

  • setting up and managing the UK Register of Consultant Lobbyists
  • publishing detailed guidance for industry about their duties under the Act
  • making sure that the industry is following the requirement to register

Who we are
