The East West Railway Company is a non-departmental public arm’s length body set up by the government to accelerate the East West Rail project – a new rail link between Cambridge and Oxford.
Our role
At East West Railway Company we’re building a new kind of railway. Established by the UK government as a non-departmental public arms-length body in late 2017, we’ve been set up to accelerate delivery of the project and bring new drive and focus.
Our role is to:
- build infrastructure which supports local and national strategies for the region
- safely deliver the infrastructure as quickly and as cost effectively as possible
- explore new ways to fund and finance the infrastructure
- explore improved ways of working across the rail industry
- design and integrate the infrastructure and train services, so passengers get a better experience
- ensure the new railway meets the needs of communities - during and after the build phases
Our team
East West Railway Company was created to bring new drive and focus to the East West Rail project.
We were founded on a range of values which we work to breathe into our project and our office culture - being open, bold, trusted, focusing on our customers and having fun - we’re incredibly proud of the people who make our company what it is.
With decades of valuable and varied industry experience, we know how to spot the best talent and are a group of approximately 40 skilled and motivated experts who are dedicated to delivering East West Rail.
